Dig through your scrap bin and create this work of art! It’s a project that will give you the satisfaction of a quick finish. It’s a perfect gift idea for someone special in your life or treat for yourself.

This pattern is for a 9″ x 11” original art quilt that can hang on your wall. This is made with a fusible applique technique that is perfect for anyone with some basic quilting knowledge. The background can be quilted using your free motion foot, if you want quilt it the same way that I did. Otherwise, you can use your regular foot. To finish, you attach a specialty yarn to hang it from the driftwood, or you can use a dowel for hidden hanging hardware. It’s a fun, easy art quilt to create.

The paper copy of this pattern includes 10 pages:
One landscape cover page, and also nine pages of instructions that includes pattern templates, free motion quilting guides and drawn instructions for hanging hardware. I have included in the instructions a full materials list, as well as contact information if you need help with the pattern. This pattern may even give you the confidence to design your own art quilt using similar techniques!

Most of my work is inspired by the nature that surrounds me. I live in a beautiful, picturesque area in New Brunswick, Canada where I can walk through the forest or along the Saint John River right from my front door. There is an infinite number of ways to show the beauty of the Maritimes and I love depicting its scenery in my creations. I also have a great love of the ocean, and many of the quilts I’ve created were inspired by the Bay of Fundy, which is only a short driveaway.
