Cockatoos, Toucans, Cockatiels, Macaws, and Lorikeets! These feathered friends may not live together in the wild, but they make a happy, colorful (and probably pretty loud) family in this fat-quarter-friendly sampler quilt. Make a 69” x 79” Large Quilt with 40 fat quarters, or a 36” x 37” Small Quilt with 10 fat quarters. The blocks are made entirely of square and rectangular pieces sewn together using conventional patchwork techniques. No templates or paper piecing!
The pattern includes a chart that shows the fabrics I used in my own quilt samples. You can use the same fabric or use my chart as a guide for selecting your own fabrics. Whichever fabrics and colors you use, the guide will help you to distribute them evenly throughout the quilts.
My quilt samples are made with fabrics from my Library print collection, Kona Solids, and Manchester Wovens, all available for wholesale order from Robert Kaufman Fabrics as of April 2019. These fabrics are expected to start showing up in stores in May 2020.
